About 1,700,000 Arabs live in Israel, representing 21% of the country’s total population.

But approximately 52% of Arab-Israelis live below the poverty line, compared to just 14% of Jewish-Israelis.

JDC-TEVET programs in the Arab sector aim to overcome various cultural and societal employment barriers by: offering training courses to acquire the skills needed in the modern workplace, help those who are highly educated get hired for appropriate jobs create job opportunities, and foster leadership and create job networks within the community.
